Konstantin Frick is a researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology IGB. He studied biology at the University of Hohenheim, specializing in botanical topics. His current focus is on microalgal biotechnology (upstream and downstream processing) and other topics related to microbiology. In addition to his work at Fraunhofer IGB, Konstantin Frick is also a research associate at the Institute of Interfacial Engineering and Plasma Technology at the University of Stuttgart.

He is the contact person at Fraunhofer IGB for food security within the Fraunhofer Innovation Platform for the Water Energy Food Nexus in Stellenbosch.
